Police still searching for robbery suspect

Family members say Sheri Spencer had just cashed a check and was driving down 11th Street in Clay City when a man approached her window with a gun.

The sheriff's office says that man is David Ratliff. He's still on the loose. Last seen early this morning at a Clark County gas station. This afternoon, we spoke to the victims mother. She wouldn't go on camera, scared she and her daughter are still in danger. The victim's mother tells us Ratliff got away with $240 in cash after pointing a gun at her daughter.

The sheriff's office tells us after the robbery, Ratliff ran through several backyards and ended up at an apartment complex where they say a woman he lives with give him a ride to a nearby parking lot. That woman, Jessica Charles is now charged with tampering with phsycal evidence. Investigators say she hide his jacket and b-b gun in their apartment.

Jessica Charles was already awaiting trial for the death of her 22-month-old daughter. She was indicted on that murder charge in March of last year. In an interview with us last year, she maintained her innocence.

"I'd never, never hurt my kids. Anyone that knows me, knows my kids, knows that I'd never hurt my children," she said.

Charles was out of jail on bond when yesterday's incident happened. This morning, the Commonwealth's Attorney won a motion to revoke that bond. Officials say if you see Ratliff, you need to call Powell County dispatch.
