Possible shifting of district lines could affect one Southeastern Kentucky senator

Shifts in state senate district lines in Kentucky could create some elections next year where none were scheduled before.

If shifts occur in Southeastern Kentucky, Laurel County's Tom Jensen could have to defend his seat in two new counties.

Whitley and McCreary County could be shifted to jensen's district and he's up for re-election.

Whitley and McCreary are right now represented by Senate President David Williams, whose district would be shifted north.

His term runs until 2014.
