It was an anything but restful night for people staying at a Southern Kentucky hotel.
Somerset firefighters say the sprinkler system went off, causing water damage to several rooms at the Hampton Inn on Highway 27.
We got a call from someone in another part of the country, telling us about this.
That caller says this was a prank from someone in a chat room on Paltalk.com.
Apparently, the prankster called the clerk, saying the clerk needed to set off the sprinkler system or it would go off on its own.
It's similar to a prank from two years ago, where a clerk at the Homewood Suites in Lexington was told to drink apple cider a guest would be bringing her.
That cider was actually urine.
Somerset firefighters say the Hampton Inn was full when the prank happened around midnight.
Somerset police tell us they're investigating.
When we called the hotel overnight, workers had no comment.
