Even though Prestonsburg did not get hit hard by the storms, they are taking up donations for their neighbors that did.

City hall is open 24/7 for anyone wanting to drop off or pick up items. They are also delivering truck loads of items to some of the hardest hit areas.

They are asking for food and water, baby supplies, and toiletries. They also suggest items like rain boots, blankets, and tarps.

Officials say the amount of support they have seen is overwhelming.

"We've sent out a total of five loads so far and we're kind of slim in here right now, but people have been bringing stuff in all day, and I'd say by the evening we'll have some more loads get ready to go back out," said Prestonsburg Mayor Jerry Fannin.

They will be taking donations throughout the rest of the week.
