The price of Powerball tickets went up on Sunday (01/15), from a dollar to two dollars.
Lottery officials say the jackpot will be bigger, beginning at 40-million dollars instead of the current 20-million. And, they say the chances of winning will also increase.
As the jackpots grow quickly into triple digits, lottery officials believe it will draw even greater interest and that means even more ticket sales.
One thing that will drop is the numbers available for Powerball, from 39 to 35.
