The Kentucky Department of Transportation wants to give drivers fewer headaches on a busy road in Laurel County.
A public meeting was held to get the public's input on what to do with U.S. 25.
They say there are more options than simply widening the road, which officials say is the most congested one in the area.
“An option on the table for essentially building a new section of 25 which would bypass the road and this would be done to direct traffic away from South Laurel High School and give folks from London to Corbin a straighter shot,” Jonathan Dobson said.
Officials say this is part of a long range improvement process and a plan should be ready by 2013.
The next public meeting will be held next summer.
