RAM founder says laws prohibit his group from offering medical care in other states

Hundreds of people got free medical care this weekend in Wise County, Virginia, but the founder of the remote area medical clinic says laws are keeping his group from providing help to others.

The Bristol-Herald Courier reports that RAM founder Stan Brock says most states have laws that prohibit volunteers from hosting the free clinics.

Brock told the paper he has received a request to hold events in various places, but laws in many states do not allow health care providers to cross state lines to care for the needy.
