It's the last weekend of summer, and even though today's holiday was a wet one, folks were still out enjoying the long weekend. It was just cut a little short.

When people at Buckhorn Lake State Resort Park woke up to a rainy Labor Day Monday morning, most folks decided to head home.

But, Monday's rain did not stop people from staying at Buckhorn Lake the rest of the weekend.

Workers say the lodge has been full every night since Friday!

"This is our first time to Buckhorn and we like it a lot," said visitor Mitch Cress.

Cress is from Ohio, and says he loves coming to all the state parks in Kentucky.

"We got to eat the buffet which is the best food in the world," said Cress.

Down at the boat docks, business was much the same as the lodge.

People at the boat docks say Saturday and Sunday were very busy and lots of people were on the water, but on Labor Day that changed. The rain kept most people away.

"Saturday i think all of our boat rentals were out," said boat dock worker D.J. Deaton.

Workers say the park has seen an increase in participation this year.

Susan Thomas who is the program supervisor at the park says many of the guests are from out of state, and this weekend helped boost the local economy.
