Pikeville High School Senior Tara Leisure is the third winner of the Ralph Gabbard Memorial Broadcast Scholarship.
She plans to one day be an advocate for our region through her gift for journalism.
“Through writing I believe you use understanding and I believe that if you write about something passionately enough and adamantly enough, I believe people will be receptive to that,” Leisure said.
Tara plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University in the fall.
