Record breaking heat moves through Eastern Kentucky

Hot temperatures had many Eastern Kentuckians trying to find ways to cool down Friday.

Many of those turned into beach goers at Carr Creek Lake in Knott County.

Even people who aren't taking advantage of the actual beach are finding entertaining methods for staying cool.

Coming to the beach on a day like these with temperatures reaching triple digits makes it that much more important to find creative ways to beat the heat.

Not bad at all for a beach in Southeastern Kentucky.

While summer activities can be fun, it's important to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you're working outside.

22 people in the U.S. have died from heat-related issues this year.
