PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - A registered sex offender from Virginia is behind bars in Floyd County.

Floyd County Sheriff's Deputy Steve Montgomery was doing a routine patrol late Saturday night when he noticed a vehicle parked in the back of the parking lot at Middle Creek National Battlefield.

Officials say as Deputy Montgomery approached the vehicle, he witnessed the crime first hand.

Deputy Montgomery observed 43-year-old, Earnest Bradley Hall Jr., engaging in oral intercourse with a male minor from Magoffin County.

Hall, who is from Bristol, Va., faces multiple felony charges including use of a minor in a sexual performance.

Floyd County Attorney Keith Bartley says, "Anyone who works these jobs, whether it's a judge, prosecutor, or even defense attorneys...there are no other cases that rips out your heart more than one that involves a child."

Bartley says the investigation into this case just started but they do believe the two met online. Officials say they expect more charges to be filed including charges in Virginia, where Hall is a registered sex offender.

Hall is being held at the Floyd County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond.

Hall entered a not guilty plea, his next court appearance is scheduled for July 23rd.
