Infant body found on property of couple already jailed on wanton endangerment charges

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) -- Kentucky State Police say new information led them back to the home of a couple accused of letting their nine children live in horrible conditions.

"The information we received, it led to the detectives involved in the case to be able to obtain a search warrant to go back to the residence on Igo Road and search for what was reported to be the remains of an infant," said Trooper Joe Veeneman with Kentucky State Police.

On Thursday State Police executed that search warrant and found the remains of a premature baby on the Rowan County property belonging to Johnathan Prater and Edith Strange.

The couple is currently in jail on wanton endangerment charges relating to their nine children.

Police tell us an autopsy will be conducted on the remains and could lead to new charges against the couple.
