They're hoping to face off against Governor Steve Beshear for the state's top job.

But first, the three Republican gubernatorial candidates must face off against each other in tomorrow's primary election.

On Monday, the candidates are staying busy on the campaign trail, hoping to get as many votes as possible.

State Senator David Williams, who's considered the front runner in the Republican gubernatorial primary, is flying around the state, making several stops.

While at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington Monday morning, Williams addressed the fact that at each one of his stops today, a Senate Democrat will also be there to campaign against him.

"I think the fact that the Democratic Party has sent these liberal members of their establishment politician core out to meet us indicates they realize David Williams and Richie Farmer as governor and lieutenant gubernatorial candidates are a threat to their candidacy," Williams said.

State Senator Kathy Stein, a Democrat from Lexington, spoke at Blue Grass Airport shortly before Williams arrived. She announced a new website targeting Williams. Regarding the website, Stein said, "You will see a video on that and you will see information regarding the history of Mr. Williams."

The other Republican gubernatorial candidates are also meeting voters Monday.

Louisville businessman Phil Moffett's plans include driving to Paducah for a Tea Party rally.

We're told Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw plans to spend the day concentrating on her political base in Louisville.
