Flooding leads to rescues, one death in Kentucky

The results of heavy rains continue to cause problems in Southeastern Kentucky. More than four inches of rain fell in a matter of hours Monday morning in some communities.

Some of the worst flooding appears to be in Knox County. One person is dead there because of flooding. Dispatchers tell us several homes have been washed off their foundations in the Kajay area, off Kentucky 225.

Rescuers were called there to reach people trapped in homes that had been washed away. Crews are still working to find some people who live in flooded areas.

There are also reports of flooding in Bell County. Parts of downtown Middlesboro are flooded and the water is seeping into homes. U.S. 25E is down to one lane and is closed at Cumberland Ave.
