A piece of Prestonsburg history will soon be closing.
Jerry's Restaurant opened 43 years ago, but the owner says they will soon close the doors for the last time.
He says increased competition has put a financial strain on the business, and they just couldn't keep up.
Mayor Jerry Fannin says he has many memories there and is sad to see the restaurant close.
“It's going to be a sad day, but like I said a lot of things have changed in the community, and hopefully there will be something new go in and be good for the community. It's a sad time,” Mayor Fannin said.
The restaurant will close on February 12th.
