Retired Kentucky State Police Trooper dies

A retired Kentucky State Police Trooper who was credited with saving lives after a 2004 explosion has died.

The Floyd County Times reports 49-year old Rick Conn of South Carolina died suddenly on Tuesday.

In 2004, Conn was off duty when he rescued a woman and her baby from a burning house.

Conn was burned in the fire.

The fire was caused by a pipeline explosion in Ivel.

He received several honors after the explosion.

We have not received funeral arrangements.
