PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - If you are traveling through Pikeville you can expect some overnight delays for the next two weeks.
Crews will be working to install microsurface asphalt on U.S. 23 between Stone Coal Road and Mossy Bottom.
The microsurface is used to extend the life the of pavement.
Engineers say this is the first road in the county to get the microsurface treatment.
"It basically seals the existing to prolong what's actually there so that we can get a more useful life of the pavement," said Paxton Weddington, KYTC District 12 Engineer.
Work should be done by May 17.
