While the worst of the weather held off this afternoon, it looks like we will still see some strong storms later tonight, generally between 8 p.m. and midnight. These storms will likely feature strong winds and hail, with heavy rain and an isolated tornado (mainly possible in the Cumberland Valley/I-75 corridor) being the secondary threats. People in Letcher County are dealing with a road closing.
Snow didn’t cause this closing it was a major rock slide.
Transportation officials say Highway 931 is closed about two miles from the county bus garage.
Crews are working to clear the debris, but say the road could be closed for several more hours.
