The Laurel County School Board has started the process of hiring an interim superintendent, while they search for a permanent replacement for David Young.

Young resigned two weeks ago following a DUI arrest.

His deputy, Denise Griebel, was appointed acting superintendent.

The board authorized their attorney, Larry Bryson, to head the search.

The search begins immediately.
