Perry Co. school bus is involved in crash

A school bus accident sends several people to the hospital.

A school bus and a truck collided just before four Thursday afternoon.

It happened on Highway 80, near the Knott County line.

Officials say a passenger in the pick-up suffered the worst injuries but they are not believed to be life threatening. He was flown to Holsten Valley in Tennessee.

The driver of the truck, along with six students on the Perry County School Bus and the bus driver were taken to the hospital, mainly as a precaution.

A firefighter says the truck was on fire right after the collision but it was quickly put out.

The accident caused a big traffic back-up.

Traffic is now back to normal.
