School officials consider new emergency dismissal

Officials with one southeastern Kentucky school district are taking a new look at their emergency dismissal plan.

The Harlan Daily reports that Harlan Independent Superintendent David Johnson says if the instance occurs where emergency dismissal is necessary, the school will use their emergency phone calling system to notify parents.

He said for students riding the bus, there was a concern about students arriving home with no one there to meet them.
