School superintendent will retire

The Harlan County Superintendent says it was a difficult decision but he wants to retire next month.

Tim Saylor has one year left on his contract but says retiring right now is what he wants to do.

He has served as superintendent for 12 years.

His last day will be June 30th.

“I hope I've done a good job leading us in the right direction and hopefully improving our school system for our kids,” Saylor said.

The school board is now searching for his replacement.
