Search continues for Perry County inmate

Police are still searching for a man who escaped from the Perry County Jail Tuesday while on work release.

33 year old James Herald was cutting grass with about one dozen other inmates at the Perry County Park.

He was last seen making his getaway at the entrance of the park near Highway 15.

Herald had about 150 days left on his sentence, but now faces another year in jail on escape charges.

He was locked up for theft and public intoxication.

Police say Herald is originally from the Combs area and may be hiding out there.
