Search continues for missing MSU student

A search is underway for a missing Morehead State University student, who hasn't been heard from since Wednesday night.

The Morehead State University Police department says crews are looking for 20-year-old Daniel T. Hiser.

Police say they will continue their air and ground search for Hiser Saturday morning.

Authorities spent a majority of the day Friday searching for Hiser. "We conducted a ground and air search but still have nothing," explains Morehead State University Police Chief Mark Spark. "This is very concerning for everyone in this community. Where is he? Is he scared and just hiding out somewhere? Is he stuck somewhere and hurt? We are working with the entire community to try and find this student."

Police say Hiser's SUV was involved in an accident on Christy Creek Road in Rowan County. Police say the vehicle hit a building, and left the scene.

On Thursday morning, police say someone found the bumper and license plate of Hiser's SUV.

Police say numerous attempts to contact Hiser have been unsuccessful. Police say his cell phone has had no activity since 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was seen on the MSU campus around 1 p.m. that day.

Police say Hiser is 6'3" and 240 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Hiser was driving a gold, 2000 Ford Expedition with Ohio tags.

Anyone with information is asked to call MSU PD at 606-783-2035.
