After more than one week, the search continues for the missing boater on Laurel River Lake.
Therefore, for the past nine days, one thing has kept the father of missing 32-year-old Clarence Holmes busy.
"You get focused on searching and you let the focus take over," said Holmes' aunt Dena Newcomb.
Holmes' father, Arnold, says he has been living on his house boat since that stormy day.
"At times it gets real difficult, but if he is in the water, then we don't want a boat going over him," said Newcomb.
Albert Hale, the director of Laurel County Emergency Management, says that they will exhaust every resource and effort they have.
Rain or shine the family says they will continue searching.
"We don't want anyone to give up because we're not giving up," said Newcomb.
The Holly Bay Marina is accepting donations to go toward the family's search efforts.
