Secretary sues Mingo judge, others for harassment

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - The former secretary of a suspended Mingo County judge says he pursued her relentlessly, professed his love in a letter and tried to pressure her into having sex with him - first bad-mouthing and then attempting to frame her husband for false crimes.

Kim Woodruff and husband Robert filed separate lawsuits Monday against suspended Judge Michael Thornsbury after mediation attempts failed.

An attorney for Thornsbury didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

Thornsbury is expected to plead guilty to a separate conspiracy on Wednesday.

Woodruff attorney Mike Callaghan's lawsuits target the judge and the friends and law enforcement officers who allegedly helped him try to frame Robert Woodruff.

Kim Woodruff alleges sexual harassment, wrongful termination, negligence and the deliberate infliction of emotional distress.
