FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes has issued a call for precinct election officers for the May 22 primary election.
Grimes said people are needed across the state to fill those positions and can get additional information in their local county clerks' offices.
To qualify, elections officers have to be 18 by Nov. 6 and be a registered voter. People who have changed their party affiliation within the past year aren't eligible, nor are people who are candidates or spouses, parents, brothers, sisters or children of candidates.
Every precinct in the state has to have four election officers serving on Election Day. They're paid $60 per election and receive additional pay for mileage reimbursement and for training.
