Security guard helps police make two arrests

An observant security guard helped police make two arrests in a recent string of thefts.

Carl Eldridge and Robert Kelley face theft and criminal mischief charges.

In the past several days, someone cut three catalytic converters from budget rental trucks in London.

Early Wednesday morning, a bank security guard spotted a suspicious vehicle in the same lot.

When officers stopped the car, they saw tools, a flashlight, and two handheld radios in the car. After opening the trunk, they found a catalytic converter.

Eldridge was also wanted in Scott County for failure to appear in court on an assault charge.
