MIDDLESBORO, Ky. (WYMT)- A two day conference next month aims at expanding horizons for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the mountains.

“Folks in our communities who have those small businesses, whether it be restaurants, gift shops, vendor’s malls,” Tiffany Scott said.

Scott, with Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, sat down with Steve Hensley for a recent taping of Issues and Answers to talk about the “Selling to the World Expo.”

“What we want to do is learn how to expand their horizons with their businesses, especially their online sales and their marketing,” Scott added.

The expo is scheduled for May 15-16th at SKCTC’s Middlesboro Campus. It also aims to help crafters and artisans in the mountains who want to sell their products around the globe.

Scott says conference-goers will focus on topics like QuickBooks and website design.

“You’ll leave that day with a product in hand or a good start at least with how to operate QuickBooks or your website,” Scott said.
