FRANKFORT, Ky. (WYMT)- The Lexington Herald Leader reports State Senator Paul Hornback's panel will vote Monday on the industrial hemp bill.

Senate Bill 50 would allow licensed farmers to grow industrial hemp under specific regulations. Currently hemp shares a classification with marijuana, which bans the cultivation of it.

US Senator Rand Paul filed legislation to differentiate between hemp and marijuana. He and US Representative John Yarmuth plan to lobby Washington to allow Kentucky farmers to grow hemp only if Paul's legislation passes.
