U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell defended the coal industry.
He called out the Obama Administration and Environmental Protection Agency for targeting younger generations after a 12 year old boy testified in favor of the EPA on Tuesday in Frankfort.
McConnell went back to a comment made earlier this week where he quoted a former EPA employee saying they want to, “Crucify the coal industry.”
“They're not only going after the coal that's coming from out of the ground, they are after the utilities burning the coal. There is no question this is the most hostile EPA to the coal industry in American history,” McConnell said.
The senate minority leader says the EPA is a group of environmental extremists put into a role of regulators and it’s time for the war on coal to end.
