WHITESBURG,Ky.(WYMT)- Thirty-Eight people and two churches have filed a lawsuit in Letcher County against several coal companies.
The lawsuit names Sapphire Mining Inc., Sapphire Coal Company, and United Coal Company LLC.
The suit blames those companies for destroying well water supply in the Premium community.
It says at times many of the residents had no running water in their home, and had well water that was undrinkable, discolored and damaging to their property.
We called the coal companies named in the lawsuit, but we have not heard back yet.
