WYMT Severe Weather Alert

We're tracking the possibility of more storms rolling through today, with some of them being strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has the entire area under a slight risk for severe weather through this evening. The main threats at this point look to be wind and hail. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you as needed.

Several forest fires are burning across the region tonight

PINEVILLE, Ky.(WYMT)- Several forest fires are burning across the region tonight.

Officials with the Pineville district say they are battling 12 fires right now. Five of those are in Clay County, including some around the Hal Rogers Parkway. We are told the visibility is bad in that area.

Officials believe most of the fires were deliberately set. If you see someone setting a fire, you can call the arson hotline at 1-800-27-arson.
