BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A Knox County man is recovering in jail after two men allegedly robbed him and beat him on Tuesday.

The Knox County sheriff's office says they were called to the emergency room after James Mills came in claiming he had been robbed.

Mills told police he was taken to an unknown location by two men who be-friended him earlier in the day.

Mills said they beat him, put a pistol in his mouth and stole money, a cell phone and a wallet.

Shannon Morgan and Michael Gambrel were already in jail on non-related charges, but police have since charged them with first degree robbery.

Police also say the victim, James Mills, was arrested on a bench warrant.
