Several sites to be open across the state for College Goal Sunday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Seventeen Kentucky cities will have centers set up Jan. 13 to help high school seniors apply for college financial aid.

The day is called "College Goal Sunday," and it's an effort to get more seniors to pursue higher education by helping them find the money they need. Financial aid counselors will be available that day to help seniors fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as FAFSA.

The form is a requirement for anyone seeking federal financial at colleges and universities nationwide.

Sites will be set up in Ashland, Barbourville, Bowling Green, Campbellsville, Elizabethtown, Frankfort, Henderson, Highland Heights, Hopkinsville, Lexington, Louisville, Madisonville, Morehead, Owensboro, Paducah, Prestonsburg and Somerset. They open at 2 p.m. local time.
