HYDEN, Ky. (WYMT) - Leslie County Sheriff's deputies said they have been forced to make due with less thanks to funding cuts, but they still managed to get some new rides.

Deputies said officers from the Saint Matthews Police Department in Louisville gave them two Chevy Impala cruisers. They said all they had to do was ask and the help is appreciated.

“We are primary responders to 911 in Leslie County,” said Deputy Sam Mullins. \
“We have been operating with just four or five cars and it is really hard with deputies loaning their cars to other deputies while they are on duty… and if you get into a bad call you got a deputy that's at home that does not have no transportation to go assist his fellow worker.”

Deputy Adrian Cornett said the cruisers also have state of the art technology.
