Sheriff's office could be facing layoffs

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - The Johnson County Sheriff's Office could be facing layoffs.

The sheriff says they were getting $80,000 from the Paintsville School Board to collect taxes, but now the board has decided to pay half that amount to the city.

The sheriff says they have asked for help from the judge executive to replace the money in their budget because without it they may have to lay off four of their seven deputies.
