Sheriff's department is taking steps to find lost loved ones

One eastern Kentucky Sheriff's Office is taking steps to help residents find lost loved ones.

The Hazard Herald reports the Perry County Sheriff’s Office is now using a system called project life saver.

The project uses specialized radio responders to find missing people who have wandered off, including people with disorders such as dementia or Down’s Syndrome.

Other agency's using the system have located more than two thousand missing people since 1999.
