Dispute between brothers ends in a shooting

An evening shooting in Harlan County leaves at least one person injured.

EVARTS, Ky. (WYMT)- We continue to follow a developing story in Harlan County where a dispute between two brothers ended in gun shots.

Harlan County Sheriff Marvin Lipfird tells us the shooting happened just around 5:30 on Kelly Street in Evarts. According to Lipfird it all started as a property dispute between Bill and Jerome King. The dispute escalated and turned physical, and eventually Bill King shot Jerome King twice, once in the groin and once in the arm.

Bill King was arrested and taken to the Harlan County Detention Center. Jerome King was airlifted to the Holston Valley Medical Center.
