Updated: Fri 6:40 AM, Nov 23, 2012

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Some small, local businesses are opening early on Black Friday for the very first time.

A number of stores in Prestonsburg opened their doors Thursday night and will stay open through Black Friday.

Store owners say there is no need to leave town to find great deals.

Cheryl Scott, the owner of one business, told Mountain News her business has doubled since she decided to open Thanksgiving night.

Business owners are encouraging everyone to shop locally this Christmas season to support the region's economy.
