Rounds of heavy rain will begin to move into the area later tonight, leading to the increased potential for flooding. A Flood Watch is in effect for the entire area from now through Thursday and a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect tomorrow. As we head into Wednesday, temperatures will drop and transition our rain to sleet and eventually to snow. Most of the area could see several inches of snow and sleet before it's all said and done. PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Some small, local businesses are opening early on Black Friday for the very first time.
A number of stores in Prestonsburg opened their doors Thursday night and will stay open through Black Friday.
Store owners say there is no need to leave town to find great deals.
Cheryl Scott, the owner of one business, told Mountain News her business has doubled since she decided to open Thanksgiving night.
Business owners are encouraging everyone to shop locally this Christmas season to support the region's economy.
