FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Twenty-two small drinking water treatment systems in Kentucky will get financial help from the state to improve technical, managerial and financial capabilities.
Individual grants range from as little as $3,000 to Augusta to as much as $20,000 for Munfordville.
Water treatment systems that received the funding were scattered across the state. What they have in common is that each one serves fewer than 10,000 customers.
The money is coming from the state's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund that was set up in the late 1990s to prevent drinking water contamination and to improve water system management.
