While most of central Kentucky escaped the latest round of winter weather, folks to our south and east weren't so lucky.
Several inches of snow fell in Laurel County, and many people could not get out because side roads were covered by snow and ice. Luckily the sun came out and the warming temperatures are melting some of that away.
In London Monday folks felt the aftermath of Sunday's snowfall. Cars were covered in snow, and although main roads in town were clear of snow the for the most part, drivers encountered occasional icy patches.
Side streets were another story. Many were still covered with snow and thick ice Monday.
"Getting out of my subdivision to here was a job! It's just like ice--slick as glass," says Walter Garlington, "I lift my garage door up and put some salt down. I drove out nice and easy. I backed up a little, but then I slid right into the street."
