The State Journal says neither the WVU administration nor the College of Business & Economics will comment on Russ Sobel's departure except to say his resignation was effective Thursday.
A message left at Sobel's Morgantown home Friday wasn't
Sobel wrote "Unleashing Capitalism: Why Prosperity Stops at the
West Virginia Border and How to Fix It," as well as "Rule of Law:
Perspectives on Legal and Judicial Reform in West Virginia."
"Unleashing Capitalism" won the 2008 Sir Antony Fisher
International Memorial Award and made Sobel popular with West
Virginia media outlets.
Sobel was director of the WVU Entrepreneurship Center from
October 2002 until February 2006, when he accepted an endowed chair position.
