A soldier with eastern Kentucky ties has died in Afghanistan.
Family members say 22-year old Corporal T.J. Conrad was one of two American soldiers shot and killed following protests over the burning of Qurans at a U.S. military base.
Conrad was from Roanoke, Virginia and his wife Holly is from Knott County.
They have a seven month old son.
Family members say Conrad loved being a soldier and was a great husband and father.
