Some parents are defending the Dinosaur Playland Daycare in Floyd County that state officials shut down.
The Office of Inspector General closed the daycare, saying employees failed to report signs of abuse on two year old Watson Adkins and his two siblings. Adkins died days later.
However, some parents of other children there say there was nothing wrong with the staff.
Around 40 children attended the daycare.
Prestonsburg Mayor Jerry Fannin's four children went to the Dinosaur Playland Daycare for four years. "As far as I'm concerned, a real good daycare. The kids love it there, and sometimes when you pick them up, they want to stay," Mayor Fannin said.
Other parents say the same. Yvette Latta's baby daughter went to the daycare. "I don't have any complaints whatsoever. They took care of my child. She was loved. She was happy to see the workers when I dropped her off. I have nothing bad to say about them," said Latta.
Crystal Stumbo had three children attending the daycare. "They're just wonderful with them and it is awful that it's closed now," she said.

The State Inspector General shut down the Dinosaur Playand Daycare last week during an investigation into the death of two year old Watson Adkins.
The toddler was at the daycare for two days before he died from alleged abuse. His guardians, Jason and Gladys Dickerson are charged with criminal abuse.
State officials say daycare workers did not report to authorities the signs of abuse on Adkins. Officials claim the daycare is unsafe for children.
"I would not have taken my child there if it was a place she was not safe," said Latta.

Parents say the daycare's immediate closing is hard on their families.
"I work everyday and now it's really hard because I don't have childcare, and I have to leave them with my mother," said Stumbo.
"I have to take her 20 miles away for daycare. It's breaking my heart because my child is so far away from me," said Latta.
They want the daycare to re-open.
I would take them right back there in a heartbeat. Real good daycare, real good people, and I have no problem in the world with them," said Mayor Fannin.

The daycare's director has 20 days to appeal the suspension.
