Southwest Virginia man will spend several years in jail on federal charges

A Buchanan County, Virginia man will spend a little more than eight years behind bars for selling drugs and guns to an undercover informant.

The Bristol Herald Courier reports 58 year old Everett Leo Ward of Grundy was sentenced on Tuesday.

As part of an agreement, Ward will also be on probation for 10 years following his release.

Prosecutors say Ward would park in parking lots at local stores and sell the drugs and guns in broad daylight, putting the community at risk.
