LONDON, Ky. (WYMT) - Four children are without their mother after she was stabbed to death at her apartment late Monday night in Laurel County.
Plantation Apartments on South Laurel Road in London is where 25-year-old Pamela Bobbit had called home for just two weeks.
She died late Monday night after being stabbed several times following an argument with her live-in boyfriend.
Bobbit's father was the first on the scene.
“She was all humped up there at the door and everything couldn't breathe or nothing and she was shaking all over trying to breathe and she’d make like this gurgling sound. I finally got her rolled over and started breathing air into her but it was coming out all the knife holes and such,” David Honeycutt, Bobbit’s father, said.
Bobbitt's boyfriend, 34-year-old Sean Messer, was arrested and charged with her murder.
Messer is being held here at the Laurel County Detention Center. We requested a jailhouse interview to get his side of the story, however he declined.
Family members say three of Bobbit's four children belong to the man she was married to for the past nine years.
“It's heartbreaking that my kids have to grow up with no mom due to a violent man. I hope that he never gets out,” Chris Bobbit said.
Two of the kids were in the apartment when the stabbing took place. Neither of them were harmed.
Hamburger wrappers are still visible in the front yard, supporting the family's theory that Bobbitt had just returned from getting food for her and her kids when the argument broke out.
Court documents show that Pamela Bobbitt filed for a protection order against Sean Messer in February, but a judge dismissed the order in June.
Chris Bobbitt told us his wife had been seeing Messer for the past four years and that one of her children was by Messer.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
