Stabbing suspect is found competent to stand trial

A Perry County man accused of stabbing a district judge has been found competent to stand trial again.

Ronnie Brock allegedly stabbed Judge Leigh Anne Stephens at a restaurant in 2010.

She was not seriously hurt.

The Hazard-Herald reports Brock was found competent to stand trial in June 2011 after undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.

The ruling was upheld last week after a second hearing to determine if the medication Brock was ordered to take affected his competency.

A trial date is set for September 4th.
