The flood waters are beginning to slowly recede across most of Eastern Kentucky and the snow showers are coming to an end. Roads will remain slick tonight as temperatures drop below zero. PAINTSVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Paintsville Mayor Bob Porter and Johnson County Judge/Executive Tucker Daniel issued a state of emergency Friday night in Johnson County.
Up to four inches of heavy rain Friday evening caused flooding and mudslides that damaged roads and property.
Assessment teams will be surveying storm damage on Saturday before reporting back to the State Emergency Management headquarters to determine further action.
Officials urge anyone driving in the area to travel with caution and avoid flooded areas .
